Wow, first entry in a long time. Today I spent 2 hours working on the left aileron. I ordered RV-8 aileron spars, as they are interchangeable, and are pre-punched. NOTHING to this point has been pre-punched, so this is quite a luxury for me. The spar and leading edge skin have been drilled together, I have located and clecoed the end ribs to the spar, and marked the skeleton, and stiffener locations, on the bottom of the aft skin. I started cutting out the skin stiffeners. It appears that the aileron construction is very much like the elevators and rudder, so it should be much easier this time. It feels very good to be back out in the shop.
