Brief Description:  EAA CopperState Fly-in - RESEARCH

Had a short and productive day at the EAA CopperState Fly-in at CGZ. Hit the vendors that were important to me, got answers, renewed my APA membership, and bought the polo shirt.

Almost didn't go, but decided it was the last best opportunity to talk face-to-face with the vendor reps, and that's a fantastic opportunity. Glad to support them with my business, and admission.

Talked to Dynon (Mel) and got my misconceptions dispelled about the need for a separate GPS, and transponder, and eliminated the Dynon HSI and AP modules, too. The SkyView has either built-in functions or optional modules to do these functions. Eliminate, simplify, save weight, and money. Plan is for a Day/Night VFR plane, and because of many recommendations, the auto-pilot in the Dynon will be connected to a couple of servos. Solo map reading, night, and other reasons. The synthetic vision is quiet effective in Arizona with a lot of mountainous terrain.

The GPS module saves money, the Mode S module option will enhance Class B flying, and the EMS module adds engine monitoring. In a 10" SkyView that's a lot of 'stuff' but a clean efficient panel. Combined with an Icom A210, and Vertical Power VP-100 electrical panel --- that's the plan.

Also, bought a pair of Tosten CS-8 pre-wired control stick grips (for the show special), and seat foam. Tosten looks pretty good in person ... web site doesn't do it justice.
