Recv'ed my K1000-4 nutplates in the Vans order, and realized that in the interest of moving ahead, I had drilled the nutplate layout using a K1000-8 and the 'ears' are NOT spaced far enough to align for the K1000-4. Should'a known ...
Squeezed in a few AD3-3 rivets in the 'wrong' holes for the nutplates in the doubler, filed off shop heads flush, and re-drilled a new position on an angle from the first holes. Riveted on the K1000-4 nutplates. That fixes the doubler layout but not the nutplates aligned with the F/W support angles. There is no easy way to fill & re-drill without being close to the original nutplate rivet holes. "Could" rivet on a doubler to the angle and then just use a nut/bolt arrangement on those two attach points. Probably fill & re-drill for the K1000-4.
