Decided to acquire a 'used' VP-100 Power Panel (Vertical Power) from an RV-8 builder who opted to switch to the VP-X model after purchase. Price and features are a good fit and although it was a little early for me to move ahead on this item, it's coming up fast.
I've been wiring wingtip strobes, NAV, and tail lights. And, need to wire the Dynon harness for the A/P servos, too. The electric flap motor and position sensor are already on the list. So, it's close enough to get the VP-100. (Yes, it's discontinued, but a similar item to the VP-50 and VP-200 which are still current. And, uses the same CU - Control Unit.) The switch panel eliminates wiring switches for a large portion of components for a Day/Night VFR configuration.
Overall, should be a good fit, and has potential to upgrade to a VP-X when I ever decide to upgrade to a Dynon Skyview. I'm resetting my expectations to get this plane 'fit to fly' sooner rather than later.
