Brief Description:  Canopy & subpanel

Spent the whole day on all the unglamorous stuff; dismantling and getting to the foundation again. Starting with the supporting structures and working back to the canopy, again. Everything was 'roughed-in' the first time but now needs to be carefully trimmed and finalized.

Finally got around to riveting the armrest braces, a direct result of 'hangar flying' and getting in & out of the seats. Also, discovered that the air vents are positioned in a hazardous location. A bad bounce in the air or on the ground could cause my long legs (knee) to strike the edge of the vent mount under the panel. Some short pilots could do okay but I need to reposition the vents in the panel. No extended panel for me.

Lots of deburring on the subpanel, and re-thinking the UHMW block mounts, ordered replacements to reconsider. Also ordered the canopy frame reinforcement.

Worked on some adjustments to the canopy latch & lock mechanism - the interference with the electric flap housing. Ordered some extra UHMW material for spacers.

Removed the main gear mounts - cleaned up, primed, and painted. Decided to use Rustoleum for interior paint and paint as I go. Expect to paint the underneath of the subpanel/panel in white for visibility.
