Decided to NOT install the handle on the instrument panel for canopy 'ejection' in flight. But, instead will set up the handle so it can be rotated on the ground to release the hinge pins for canopy removal under controlled conditions.
Will have to devise retention method such as safetie to prevent inadvertent release, or loosening of the pins. Also need placard/label nearby.
