Brief Description:  Canopy Aft Frame

Aligned, mated and clecoed the R & L halves of F-631A using the splice plate. The alignment with the roll bar was very good, requiring only a little trimming at the splice end to adjust the butt joint. One of the problems, the tooling hole in the F-631A is in the location where a rivet is called, making the rivet impossible. Will rivet it off to one side. Not a perfect world.

The next problem is that the angle of tilt aft of the rollbar is slightly greater than the tilt of the canopy aft frame when aligned to the frame side rail. The weldment at the aft end of the side rail determines tilt. Looks like a new rollbar aft brace will be needed. Didn't think I'd be a 'repeat offender' on the same kit this many times. The alternative is to leave a wider gap at the top, instead of 1/4" called out. Changes to the aft brace will also affect the fit of the rollbar alignment with the rollbar mount. Probably end up with a compromise - slight adjustment, and slightly wider gap.

The side rail alignment can be seen in #3. The aft brace adjustment needed in #2.
