Multiple closely sequenced fiberglass and cowl tasks going on, to maximize effort. Adding edge material to the RT top cowl, fitting the top cowl LT side hinge and pin, and determining an offset of hinge for ease of assembly.
The top/bottom cowl mating is apparently facilitated by offset of the eyelets to favor one or the other cowl component. This forces the joint to align so the hinge pin can be easily inserted. The pin is a Vans items with a spot welded tab for security to a nutplate in the forward curve of the cowl. (Pin will be bent slightly to mate the tab to the cowl angle.)
The bottom cowl hinge will be set "low" to force top hinge to the inside. Hinges will NOT be riveted until fiberglass is 'completed'.
