Brief Description: Canopy - lift struts & rollbar fit
Started with a closed canopy and unsecured plexi, released the locking lugs using the canopy latch. Then lifted gently to allow enough of a gap to attach hand squeeze clamps to hold the plexi to the bow of the canopy frame. Also added the three scraps (retainers) to the front edge to cleco that end of the plexi. Propped up the canopy to full range of motion and connected the gas struts to the attach points on the longerons and canopy frame.
Of course, without the plexi attached properly to the frame, front and bow, there is still a lot of flex.
With the struts attached there was an open cockpit to slip the front bow of the rollbar into the back half and check alignment and interference. Looks good for now.
Added more clecoes to the stiffeners and skin/frame and propped the canopy in a slightly closed position for the night.
Starting to feel less like a perpetual hobby and more like a potential airplane. EAA 228 chapter coming to the house on Tues and it's time to start cleaning up the workshop for visitors.
