Brief Description:  Engine tear-down

Finally got the 'airplane factory' cleaned up and organized enough to get back to work. And, it's finally dropped to under 100+ degs outside.

Hung the engine from the door header and drained the remaining oil. Started tear-down by removing the magnetos, vac pump, oil filter and mount, mechanical fuel pump. Then came the intake tubes, primer tubes, oil lines to valve rocker areas, and the oil cooler & lines.

Finally, the nuts and bolts of the accessory cover, and then the oil sump. The cylinders, and pistons will be removed while on the vertical stand before splitting the crandcase and getting the core disassembled.

At this stage the condition is visually consistent with what I expected for the life of this engine, and I observed nothing unusual except for dirt from the prop strike wherever there was enough oil on the engine to stick. There is one 'ding' on the bottom side fins of the #3 cylinder which appears to be an impact from a small rock. Don't anticipate any problems but needs a little Dremel smoothing on the fins to avoid stress cracks later, if the cylinder is otherwise good.
