Brief Description:  Preliminary engine evaluation

Entry is actually for two days, but same task. Removed accessories, baffles, exhaust, carb, alt, and starter. Also, removed the baffles and air filter box. Intent was to clean-up and do further examination of the external condition of the engine.

The plan is to upgrade the O-360 using AirFlow Performance Fuel Injection. Also, to install a Sky-Tec lightweight starter, and evaluate the alternator for condition and output for the planned requirements. The cracked starter is obviously a repair issue, in any case.

The baffles will probably form the basis of the baflle system needed for the RV-6A but were from a Cherokee 180 and need to be modified.

There is a ding which appears new on the fins of #3 cyl, a location that is almost impossible see, and even harder to reach. Hard to understand how it could be dinged with the exhaust pipes in the way. Possibly a result of the prop strike hitting the dirt.

Anticipate removal of the sump heater pad since there is no cold weather to worry about in AZ. The carb will be tagged as appropriate and sold.

Ready to remove the engine mount and get this on an engine stand to do further work.
