Brief Description:  Baffles - Flexible edges

Gordon came over to help with finishing the baffling flexible material - day 2 of that task, and the completion of the 'front section'. Most of the aft edge and sides is straight forward and just overlaps the sections where the panels join together. The front behind the spinner is more complex.

He taxied over in his RV-6 and pulled the top cowl off to compare notes. We followed that with a few adjustments where necessary. There were indications of a few minor problems but he's happy with the engine temps.

Biggest challenge is forward areas where the material fits against the airflow ramps on the top cowl. It's a little different on the two aircraft, too. It will require adjustments later.

Then we re-attached the canopy into the pivot pins, using the 'ejection' T-handle. Had to remove the cotter pin on the retention spring to allow the pins to retract completely. We had some interference and couldn't get the 'pelican' hooks into the UHMW slots. Worked perfectly after that.

Fit of the forward edge was still very satisfactory after the forward top skin was riveted, but had expected some shifting during rivet buckingt.
