Removed the conical engine mount to accomplish two tasks before engine could be hung again. 1) enlarge the gear bolt 'hole' and 2) install large area washers against FW. The conical mount nose gear bolt is slightly higher than the DynaFocal alignment and the bolt definitly hits the FW wrong. I'll have to use a guide and re-drill (enlarging and raising) the hole where the bolt/nut alignment will make sense. The large area washer between the engine mount and FW will make the 'castellated' nut alignment with the cotter pin better and can spread a light of the engine weight against the airframe. It will move the engine 1/8" forward too.
Keith visited the hangar and helped me rivet the FW-mounted oversize oil cooler. Had to stand on my head inside the FW to do this.
