Brief Description:  Prop arrived - inspect

The used prop arrived today, via UPS and my worst fears were briefly visited upon me. Looked like UPS had rolled it half way to Phoenix, as is typical of awkard and heavy packages. The packaging was good on the padding, but short on 'structure' as a crate might have been. The hub area was extensively protected by foam, and various bubble wraps, but the spinner plate was noticeably bent like a fancy canned potato chip. (A little pressure and it was almost perfect).

The two ends were almost well padded with cardboard and foam but the intersection of the box was structurally lacking. Fortunately, the prop was without signs of anything to be concerned about. It was luckily the end of its journey.

After a couple of flight hours, it will be indistinguishable from any other FP 'not brand new' prop.

Model No. was checked and will be double-checked soon. The 2 1/4" extension is attached, as is the spinner plate and mount tabs. This will save a little time on fabricating the spinner. The spinner plate will be 'trued' after mounting. P/N - 72FM8S9-1-85 (72" dia, 85" pitch FP).

Also, attended the EAA228 meeting and saw another project (wings) on display and a safety briefing from Andy.
