Inserted the F-689 forward elevator control tube into the floor tunnel.
There is an installation trick - inserting the forward VA-115 threaded end into a hole in the spar attach plate. When this is done, the aft end should 'drop in' the tunnel and can then be passed thru the F-606 bulkhead to connect the aft Heim joint to the elevator bellcrank.
Sent a msg to Van's support re: length of the F-689 'assembly' - or should it be the length of the tube only. Dwg #40 states that it is the 'assembly' but I measured it to be the tube only ... with both VA-115's riveted on, the assemble is too long (#3) ... may have to remove the aft end (drill out rivets) and re-rivet after dropping in.
