Brief Description: Control tube (weldment) clean-up
Used a ROLOC ScotchBrite wheel to clean-up the 4130 steel tubes (weldments) for flaps, rudder pedals, control sticks and tubes. Some were a little rusty, while others had a dark patina. Clean-up was preliminary to dropping them off for powder coating. Decided that I wanted all tubes protected quickly since we are going into fall and the hot dry desert won't provide protection. Also, using the evap cooler in the garage a little more, raising the humidity.
When they are done, I'll use Mar-Hyde single-stage self etching primer to pour through the tubes for further protection. Masking tape was applied to the locations of the UHMW blocks - not sure but think that these areas will get a light coat of primer.
