Started by fabricating the angle aft stop/mounting bracket and fwd stop 'spacer' for the elevator horns. Also made two 1/8th" spacers for the fwd spar of the HS. The stop configuration is different than the original RV-6A design. This is IAW updated plans. As a result, there is no way to remove the QB fwd spacer and insert the 'stop/spacer' of the new design, e.g., the fwd stop will sit ON TOP of the aft deck, making it even thicker (rivets adjusted).
After locating the HS on the aft deck and squaring it with the fuselage (centered equidistant on a fwd centerline of the fuselage), the HS was clamped down and the fwd spar drilled with a 90deg attachment through the F-614? angle and longeron. There is NO WIGGLE ROOM, for this hole to hit BOTH angle & longeron. It's close to the end of the angle but hits the longeron well. There will be a 2nd bolt through the angle so this is a good position.
Note that there is a slot trimmed in the bottom of the aft fuselage skin for the tiedown ring It's a detail NOT discussed in the manual or dwgs. The ring is also offset to the left so that the bracket is centered on the bulkhead. This causes some interference with the rudder fiberglass bottom.
