Brief Description:  More photos for 2/3/07

Photo #1 - inside the skin before the rear spar goes on. Only one side of the skin is riveted at this time. Only drilled out two 'bad' rivets and both came out cleanly. Overall the quality was very good and I was pleased with my first "major" kit component. Most builders do the empennage first, but this is a turn-around. I'm well into the QB and decided to replace the VS/Rudder.

Photo #2 - riveted rudder without the rear spar. Will hold off riveting on the rear spar until the Tech Counselor has a chance to sched a review -- lots of things 'done' and would like to review before closing this one up.

Photo #3 - might be a llittle confusing - the "blue" plastic was still on the -8 VS when I took the pic and the bare metal VS is my original VS for the RV-6A QB. Note that it is NOT counterbalanced, and it is shorter and at the top has a shorter chord line. Estimate - about 2 sq ft larger for the -8 VS.
