Long & productive evening/night, concentrated on the empennage details. Removed VS/HS and added nutplates for fairing, which required removal of some rivets in the HS (QB component) in order to install nutplates in those locations. Total of 22 nutplates, and not done yet, 5 to go..
Trimmed the excess off the vertical bars (F-611), where it was above the aft spar of the HS. This interfered with the fairing, too.
As the VS opening in the front of the fairing was trimmed, the fairing moved aft and alignment of the entire fairing improved. What seemed to be a poorly fabricated fairing ended up with a pretty close natural fit without any fasteners yet. Trimmed off the excess edges beyond the area where fasteners will be located.
