Brief Description:  CopperState Fly-in, Casa Grande

Attended one afternoon of the EAA Copper State Fly-In at Casa Grande (30 miles south of Phoenix). Main objective was to meet with avionics vendors and review my concepts and preliminary equipment choices. Dynon, AVMAP, and Vans were available. Friday afternoon was slow and I had plenty of time to get one-on-one information.

Dynon suggested I look at the RV-12 that Vans flew in to see the panel. Also discussed the HSI and AP options, including the servo requirements. Was told that roll servo for RV-6 is under the seats, not in the wings so I can close up the last wing skin. The SkyView model is SO NICE with artificial terrain (synthetic vision), and larger screen. Couldn't get any real price info yet, but it would be a stretch on the budget. They confirmed compatibility with AVMAP and iCOM A210 radio, Garmin GTX-327 transponder.

AVMAP continues to enhance the EK-IVP GPS unit, still my choice, lots of private airfield info, and new terrain features - same price (can't beat that).

Got my eyes opened about Vertical Power power panel, WOW. Greatly modernize the wiring and control of power. Of course, I really like the VP-200 with ALL the features, except budget. We'll see what it saves to offset some of that cost.
