Constructed a cart to hold the QB wings and keep them safely stored until completion of the garage renovations. Used the physical dimensions of the wings and concepts from a number of RV builder websites. Approx 18" from the leading edge to the spar, and wing overall length of 10+ ft as the determining factor in using 8ft length.
Cart is constructed of 2x4's (8ft long) and OSB for gussets. 2" rubber wheels seem to be a little too difficult to caster properly. Maybe a problem with mounting of the wheel plates square on the bottom of the cart, causing some distortion of the bearing plate. May remount.
Used a $5 carpet remnant cut 6" wide and 12 ft long, excess length to be trimmed. Draped the strip over one upright 2x6 and over the top, securing with drywall screws. Used the actual wing on the cart when setting the carpet for proper height.
Will probably use the cart in the pick-up truck to transport the wings from the hanger (seller) to home (garage).
