Flaps were 'hitting' the rivets on the 'step-up' portion of the flap hinge brace. Upon review of the drawings it was obvious that these 3 holes were supposed to be countersunk & dimpled, and get CR3122-4-6 pull rivets. Can't explain the lapse, but will fix it.
Drilled the heads off, and punched the rivets out. Ordered Cherry rivets from Spruce. Also, still need to address Detail D - Dwg 17, FL-601PP offset on flap flange height to clear 'step-up' on spar root plate.
Added some reinforced micro to the rudder bottom fairing, after grinding off the gelcoat cracks.
