Re-fabricated the Lt wing flap linkage attach bracket to ensure it can be tightened and maintained over time. Borrowed this method from the RV-9A plans and it eliminates the 'nut' on the backside of the bracket, which is impossible to torque.
During this process, making a slightly longer bracket, I discovered that the plans spec only a .063 angle, not the .125 that I had used. Therefore I fabricated a new angle and flap attach bracket, using the correct material. Riveted on a nutplate for the flap linkage to attach, and tightened with an open-end wrench. Riveted the bracket back in the in-board flap end, and installed the flap hinge pin to test.
Angle of the linkage is MUCH improved, as is the access to the link joint to be tightened.
