Having decided to install nutplates on the flap attach bracket, (#3, insufficient edge distance), it was necessary to make a replacement flap attach branket to provide a proper nutplate. #1 shows the left and right flaps, inboard ends with the new bracket on the right. During this process, I discovered the length of the right flap linkage was 3/8" longer than the left, and there was no room for the threads to shortern the adjustment. Removed the excess, and they now match.
Spent the rest of the afternoon installing and removing the flaps to mark and trim the inboard top surface to clear the fusleage. No pictures, but it looks good, and then I cycled the flaps for full range of motion and function.
