Brief Description:  Left flap and linkage

Back tracking a ways in the progress, working on the unfinished earlier tasks that were skipped.

Trimmed the flap top inboard sking to clear the left fuselage, and the bottom skin overlaps. Had to position the flap in 'approximate' position of hinge alignment, scribe lines on the skin against the fusgelage skin, trim, and repeat. Scary, don't want to over-trim the skin. This is not a final edge either because the wing sweep is not 100% finished and too much trimming would result in an unsightly inboard gap. Also inserted the swivel flap rod-end fitting, but had to remove a blind rivet to eliminate interference on the nut. This is going to be a very difficult fitting to torque, or essentially 'just tighten'.

Removed 2" of hinge rings in order to allow the hinge pins to be inserted from the middle, and secured to a soon to be installed nutplate retainer on the flap brace. Matches right wing hinge but the 2" seems too tight. We'll see how it goes.

Finally, cut the flap linkage to length (more details to follow), and enlarged the previously cut opening in the bottom of the fuselage where it enters. Another scary task, cutting the side and bottom of the fuselage seems so drastic. It's not completed but awaits the final angle of incidence and sweep to be set.
