The urethane blocks were then carved down to a shape close to the canard cover. The rest of the shaping was completed with sanding blocks and finished with urethane blocks. The front edge did not have enough foam. My two part foam would have worked well here, but it had solidified. For this small amount, I decided to use a spray can of insulation foam. It filled in very well but turned out to be difficult to sand similar to the styrofoam. In the end, it was usable to obtain the correct shape. The front edge was made to have a dip to allow micro to be added along the front edge.
The entire canard and fuselage which could come in contact with the layups were covered in packing tape for good release.
