Brief Description:  Canard Cover

A canard cover had previously been fashioned; however, it did not fit well. When the inside layup was finished, the cover was not fastened to the plane to maintain the proper shape and it warped.

The last one I used blue styrofoam. This time polyurethane foam is being used. Both have their pros and cons. The urethane foam is fragile and messy. The blue foam is heavy and more difficult to fashion into the shape needed.

The urethane foam was formed to fit on the canard by applying an adhesive sand paper to the canard and sanding the foam to fit the air foil shape. This provided a good stable base for the foam to sit. After fitting the blocks they were 5 minute epoxied in place.
