Brief Description: Checking Elevator Travel and Installing Tip Fairin
09/06/2007 I cut the polystyrene for the wing tips and micro'd them on. 09/14/2007 I shaped the foam to be ready to glass the top side. 09/15/2007 I glassed the tips with UND @ 30° and peel ply'd it. 09/16/2007 I trimmed the glass and flipped the canard over and shaped the bottom of the tip. I sanded off about .5 " of foam at the tips to allow a glass to glass bond. I will have to repair the foam on the right tip. I broke the foam while sanding. The fiber glass did not break. I installed a 1/4" ID tube for the hinge pin. I layed up 2 plys of BID and placed some dry micro in the glass to glass bond area. I may have to work that when it cures. 09/20/2007 I trimmed the glass and added dry micro to the glass to glass area. I also prepared the inside of the tip near the elevator using flox at the corners. I layed up 1 layer of BID. 09/24/2007 I placed the elevator back on and trimmed the hinge pin to its final length and shaped it to fit in the wing tip. I did not notch the hinge pin at the set screw yet. 10/05/2013 The starboard Canard tip was damaged on the bottom by a Clamp that fell on it. It tore the skin in about a l"X2" area. It compressed the foam about l". I Cleaned up the hole and sanded the surroundIng glass to feather it in, I cut a new piece of foam and
