Brief Description:  Attach Tabs & Installation

10/1/2006 I finished the line up and marked the attach point, drew the tab outline and covered the wood with tape. I also bondo'd the box to the table and placed wax paper under the box.
10/4/2006 Cut the glass for the outside of the attach tabs and the inside of the tabs.
10/5/2006 Wet out and formed the outside 45 layers of the attach tabs. 25 layers of UND and 20 layers of BID.
10/11/2006 I trimmed the tabs to the 1.5" radius and sanded out all the bondo and smoothed out the fiberglass layers on top. I filled the holes with wax and sanded down all the surfaces in preparation for a layup inside the tabs. I checked the dimension of the drilled holes one more time. Almost exactly at .75"
10/20/2006 Wet out and formed the inside 45 layers of the attach tabs, 20 layers UND and 25 layers BID.
10/26/2006 Cut out the layup on the inside of the tabs
11/2/2006 Sanded and shaped the attach tabs.
11/29/2006 Working on lining up the LG Strut. The holes in the bulkheads appear to be off about 1/4" on the left side attach point. The fairing location is preventing the strut from moving forward.
11/30/2006 Worked some more on lining up the strut. I trimmed off some of the fairing corner. Now it appears that the right front tab on the strut is interfering with the forward bulkead. It will need to be trimmed.
12/1/2006 I cut out the MG-1 and the MG-2. I drilled all the holes in the center and the # 10 holes on the MG-2.
12/2/2006 I checked all the measurements one more time. Everything is within a 1/4". I used bondo to attach the MG-1 to the bulkheads. Then I took the strut out and attached the MG-2 with a 1/4" bolt thru the bulkhead to the MG-1. I drilled out the # 10 bolt holes.
12/15/2006 Rob Whitlock came to visit the project as an EAA Tech Advisor. They looked over the project and thought it was going well. We talked about how to drill the holes for the Strut attachment.
12/27/2006 I pulled off all the MG-1 and MG-2 plates, cleaned them with Alumiprep 33 and alodined them with Alodine 1201. Cleaned up the area
