Brief Description:  Contouring the bottom

05/25/2006 Started to trim the foam and shape the fuselage bottom. This is going to be a challenge. I am cutting as shallow as I can so I can sand out the uneven cuts
05/27/2006 I switched to a longer jig saw blade. I was using the band saw as was recommended in the plans. It continually would cut deep. I alos purchases a band saw. I finished forming the right side.
05/28/2006 I finished the left side. I still need to fine finish everything.
05/29/2006 Worked on fine sanding fuselage. Trimmed the 1/16" edge around the landing brake with the router. Layed down the duct tape as a release for the brake flange. Trimmed the 1/16" joint area at F22. Removed the foam from the outside of the fuel gauge.
07/01/2006 I worked on the ILS glideslope antennae. I got it soldered and installed, but while I was shifting the baluns, I broke the conductor solder. The center conductor is a braided. I am switching to a solid core. I also cut out the foam and the wood hardpoint for the step.I also finished the foam for the transition area for the landing gear opening.
07/03/2006 I radiused the landing gear bulkheads and the F22 and the firewall in preparation for glassing the bottom. I also cut out the triangle at the edge of the NACA scoop for the flox in the corner.
07/07/2006 I got the new cable in and soldered the ILS glide slope and the marker beacon antennae in.
07/07/2006 Floxed in the wood brace for the step. I will sand it down once the eopoxy has cured. I also micro'd the antennae into place and filled in most of the holes in the foam.
