To repair the rudder stud that was stripped out, it had to be cut out first.The Fein was used with a saw. I had to use some water to keep the bolt from getting so hot that it could damage the wood. Once cut off, the SS liner and the underlying fiberfrax was cut away and the surface cleaned up. The remaining bolt was ground down flush with the firewall.
One of the large base studs with a perforated base purchased from McMaster Carr was used. Flox was liberally applied. Some tape was placed on the rudder bracket and the bracket was used to position the stud.
Once cured, fiberfrax and a SS liner cap will be installed.
