Brief Description:  39iS/U-14

1: The C-00003 Sealer Spacer was fabricated, wrapped with duct tape (total thickness .076"). The spacer was placed along the aft edge of F-0124-1.
2: The F-12133, F-1202B-1 were covered with adhesive tape to protect them from epoxy resin. Layers of duct tape (.060" total thickness) were placed along the upper edge of the F-01270-L-1.
The three most forward screws were removed of the Canopy Skirts. An offset reference line was marked onto the F-01270-L & F-01270-R.
3:Duct tape was placed to the side edges of the F-01240. The remaining area was masked-off with butcher paper.
4: The two C-1208 were trimmed.

5 Work on: The C-1208 was trimmed until it was flush with the skirt, only to allow it to go from forward aft until it leaves 1/4 " out on its forward side respect to the canopy frame. The foam was slightly pushed to the AN4 pivot screw on the frame, right in the center of the mark (Screw head) of the foam was drilled using an unitbit up to it reaches a 3/4" diameter hole, Then the hole was enlarged to approx 7/8", using a file taking care not to break the foam on its thinner side (hole bottom side) and that on the forward side there was material contacting with the canopy frame.
The surfaces of the canopy frame where the foam was in contacting were scuffed with 100 grit sandpaper.

04/14/20 3.1Hrs
5: A diagonal cut was made at the outer top edge of the foam to reduce the sanding time of the next step.
The foam was glued to the canopy frame using epoxy resin thickened with flox.
