We started the day by removing yesterday’s rivet and riveting again completing step 3 of page 18-03.
We proceeded with step 4 and 5 of the same page, using a stronger 1/8 (0.125in) drill bit instead of the #30 (0.1285in), since the A-909 is made of steel, so we could expand the hole with the #30 drill bit later. This took a lot of time because there’s a total of 13 holes that need to be match-drilled and it’s hard to drill through steel. We then continued with step 6 to deburr A-909 we used a special drill bit since we cannot reach the inside part of the tube, when we removed the skin’s protective plastic we noticed that we expanded its holes too, maybe damaging the part, we’ll report to Van’s to know how to proceed. Since we could not continue with that we skipped to step 1 of page 18-04 and completed it.
