Because of the same problem of the missing parts we had the previous days, we were forced to skip to section 18 and start working on the flaperon.
We took a look at step 1 (18-02) and noticed something odd, the part was already as shown in figure 1 (18-02), we came to the conclusion that the part was shipped as a final part, step 2 (18-02) as well, we didn’t need to do anything here.
For step 3 (18-02) we only needed to flute the flanges, the part stays bended and not at all aesthetic but that’s not a problem. We continued with step 1 on page 18-03 and grabbed our counterbalances (A-909) and our A-1201C-L skin, that goes over the assembly.
A-1203 and A-1204R are used to rest the counterbalance, then you place the skin over it and match drill both #30 holes as noted in step 2 (18-03) and as shown in the pictures. We only completed steps 1 and 2 (18-03) because when we tried to rivet the rib to the counterbalance, the rivet did not set flush so we’ll have to remove it tomorrow.
