0.5 flight time, 1 ldg. Went over to the ultralight field, then back south of the airport over to the I-10 project. Engine is running great. The revised fuel system is working. True test will be in summer, though, when there's more heat. Oil only up to about 160F. OAT about 50F. Added fuel before takeoff or it would have been quicker to get in the air. Here's the to do list, for those that think their plane has to be "done" before it flies: 1. Lengthen RH exhaust. 2. Clean bottom of cowling. 3. Torque prop (again, ongoing). 4. Re-rivet behind-tank angles. 5. Fix radio (short in PTT lead). 6. Fasteners in panel (borrowed from EIS for radio, and one of the panel nutplates has stripped). 7. Add a larger clock. The previous tiny one battery died. 8. Add a compass. Bought one at the auto parts store, need to stick it in. 9. Add flap gap fairings. (made, not installed) 10. Canopy secondary latch - the to-print pin keeps falling out (secured in flight w/ masking tape). 11. Secondary locking on the outer wheel fairing fasteners (not locktite). 12. Paint the fiberglass. 13. Install the stick boots (another Sonex builder working on these - I did the seat & side panels for his).
Looking SW. Short span at left is over I-10 Eastbound.
