Finished filing the edges of the switch plate and the left instrument panel so they would fit together better. Made the connections for the switch panel. The only wires which would need to be cut to pull this panel off now are for the EIS (engine monitor) light. Everything else unscrews or quick disconnects somehow. Would need to loosen the start button from the panel. Threw the master switch. The low voltage light comes on (correct), and pressing the test button makes this light flash (also correct). Turned the master switch from "batt" to "alt + batt" and Don reported that he could hear the alt relay cycle. Held the starter button for a second or two. Engine turned over. Seems like everything connected here works as it should. Put the radio and transponder into their trays and tightened them down. Turned the master back on. Radio turned on, transponder appeared to turn on (didn't have it where it would be interrogated, but the light flashes for a second when it's turned to STBY).
