Major Visual Progress day! Added the 2 F12's to the tail cone. Had the aft fuse on an old printer box, but it wasn't solid enough inside. I'd shim it to level, and then the cardboard would compress a little more. I didn't think this was good for checking the levelness of the front end (between the two F12's), so I put the forward end of the tail cone on jack stands. Fit the upper cross tie - turns out I had put the radius on the wrong side of these - they need to fit inside the motor mount angles. Also turns out the radius called out in the print is too small because the radius inside the angle stock is larger than 1/8". Got that fit and measuring the 32" called for. Measured the firewall itself for the lower dimension because I couldn't find it on the print - about 33" or just over. I put the lower cross tie in place and clamped it. Using 3 c-clamps at each aft end joint (4 joints) plus two clamps at each of the upper and lower cross ties was getting to every clamp I had, including odd old super-cheap ones I never use. But it got the job done. Drilled the F12's to the tail cone. Drilled the cross ties 1 fastener hole at each end, because I need them to be able to rotate just a tiny bit to allow the lower skin to fit.
Hanging the F12's on the tail cone.
On jack stands. It later fell off this as I turned it over.
