Covering the polishing bonnet with plastic bags overnight worked well - it was still the right amount of wet with the polish to start right off cutting well. Took about 3 hours solid to finish off the side, plus another 1/2 hour or so to clean off the excess polish residue, both sides, and roll up the paper and plastic over the work table.
