Added for photo - other end of the upper forward box beam showing the cutout around the splice plate. Not sure why this did not fit per print - the print dimensions add up correctly, but the fuselage was turning out slightly too wide.
Only cut the area at the splice plate. The rest is needed for edge distance from fastener holes.
