Brief Description:  Carb adjustment

Started by tightening the leaking oil fitting at the oil filter spacer ring. This seems to have stopped the leak. Made an adjustment to the mixture screw on the carb, since last time ended up still seeming a little lean. This was a bad idea, as the engine would not sustain a run, but would puff through the gas in the carb then die. Did another few adjust and runs like this, but no good. Then the set screw flipped over in the carb and started running back into the threads upside down. So I couldn't get a wrench on it. Tried putting tape on the end of needlenose pliers to get it out, but no good. Ended up taking all 6 carb screws out, plus the two on the mixture cable clamp, plus the mixture cable clamp to access one of the carb body screws. All this to open the carb up enough to get the set screw out from the inside of the housing. Quite frustrating. And I have no idea where the mixture is now so maybe tomorrow I'll start over.
