Brief Description:  Engine run

After yesterday's difficulties with getting the set screw back out, started over with the mixture. Turned it down to full lean - only about 2 turns, so it was definitely sliding back down. Turned it up to about 4 2/3 turns. Started, no run. Did this a few more times, now at about 8 1/3 turns up from the bottom, though I don't know how much down the set screw pushes before locking. Ran ok at about 8 1/3 turns, now that it will run continuously, I need to go back and follow the directions to dial in the temperature (or see if the #3 needle is actually too rich for this engine). Since it would run ok, I untied it, removed the chock, got in and gave it a little taxi test. Dead easy. None of that swapping-ends feeling I got from training in a Cub. Didn't go far enough or fast enough to see if it pulls to one side, but nothing seemed obviously out of order. Wings aren't on it, but other than a little more weight, that isn't going to change the wheel alignment. Ended up by pulling off the oil filter spacer ring to rework the forwards fitting, which still leaks a little.
