Brief Description:  Calibrate fuel level sight tube

In preparation for the first engine run, need to get some fuel in it. I got 5 gallons in a can from the FBO self-serve. I used a 1 gallon plastic jug (originally for distilled water) to calibrate 1 gallon into a 2 1/2 gallon plastic tank. I drew a line on the 2 1/2 gallon tank where the 1 gallon level was, then added gallons 1 at a time to the airplane tank. Marked a line on the sight tube for each gallon in the "tail up" / in flight position. Marked a line on the panel for each gallon in the "tail down" on the ground position. The sight tube extension down about 2" below the already 2" extended panel is just right to indicate down to the last gallon remaining. That way I could really fly to a 1/2 hour day VFR reserve and have confidence that I can really see the level that far down on the sight tube. Also while the plane was tail-up, I checked the oil level and drained out almost 1q to get it down to the low line on the dipstick.
