Brief Description:  Vert stab installation

A day of setbacks. Found about 6 areas that were preventing full travel on the elevator. At least I found it before things got further along - but this was after I had riveted the lower hinge and was in the process of installing all the bolts up the tail spar again. In fact I had tightened all but 2 of them when I noticed it. Anyway, areas to check before bolting on the vertical stabilizer: 1. That the down stop is hitting against the h-stab spar. Down travel isn't something to worry about as much (couldn't slam it down on the runway hard enough?), but the elevator drive horn wasn't hitting the stop, it was hitting the angle below the stop. So I ground out the U-shaped angle piece a little to get full down. Then on the up side, the stop wasn't hitting against the aft angle. 2. The drive horn in the center of the weldment was hitting its aft side against the vertical stab spar. So I tried to grind on the horn without removing the vertical stab, but couldn't get the dremel in the right position. Plus I'd want to repaint the weldment. So after an hour of going after this, I decided to remove the vert stab again. And check the heck out of the up travel on the h-stab before bolting anything back together.
