Brief Description:  Vert stab installation

Removed the vert stab. Marked the rhs aft skin where it runs up against the tail cone skin for trim. Marked the turtledeck skin for trim against the forward spar. Trimmed these. Had marked the rudder horn where it contacted the stops on both sides, trimmed this with the tail off. Decided I did not need to get the hinge pin back out. I have split the hinge pin into two on this one to facilitate remove and install, but the upper pin is IN there, never to come back. And the lower pin was an adventure. Put the tail back on, and started shaving away at the right side rudder horn to increase travel. The left side only needed a little trim, right at the corner at the aft edge of the stop (also filed a "ramp" shape into the aft edge of the stop). After quite a bit of trimming using the sanding drum on the dremel, decided I might make the last bit of progress needed with a thinner stop. Removed the .125 thick stop and fabbed a new one from .062. Only countersunk the center hole, because this is the only one that the horn runs over. A little more shaving on the horn, and that was it. Travel is darned close to the limit called for on the print. Put the lower hinge in place and tried to run the pin in. No good. So I unclecoed the lower hinge from the fuse, ran the pin in (no problem), then clecoed the hinge to the fuse. Left it as is, with 2 of the 3 forward bolts loosely threaded in, and 2 of the 18 or so aft bolts loosely in place. So a whole lot of activity, and it looks exactly the same as yesterday. Except now travel is the proper amount, the hinge pins are in, and the lower hinge is ready to be riveted.
