Remade the tip ribs for the h-stab. The fiberglass tips were way too tight - tighter than on the vertical stab, so I made them 1/8" undersize to allow for the fiberglass thickness. In doing so, I got back out the form block I'd used to make them in the first place, and the plans sheet for the h-stab ribs. I found that the form block was made to the vertical stab tip rib shape, and that the h-stab tip rib shape is different. That explains part of the extra tightness - the vert stab tip rib has a longer taper than the ones for the h-stab, so using this shape in the h-stab would put a little bit more metal right out near the front where I was having such a problem. I still made the whole rib 1/16" narrower per side (1/8" narrower overall) than what's shown on the print. These turned out reasonably well, but I may yet go back and add another flute location and bend up another set. Most of the time here was in laying out and cutting out the form block. I also drilled off one of the tip ribs and test fit the new one - will need to cut down the spar end flanges to account for the narrower tip rib. Too bad I wasn't able to spend a little more time, since it was the best day in a while (66F, sunny and breezy), and probably will be about the last day under 90F for the next 6-7 months or so.
