TAF says to just use the aircraft chassis ground for the fuel level sensor, but with all the tank sealant being applied to the mounting plate rivnuts, and with the cork gasket as an insulator, I decided to add a ground to the mounting plate for insurance.
I countersunk a new hole on the backside of the mounting plate and riveted the ground lug supplied with the old sending unit bracket to the plate with a washer for proper hole diameter. The countersunk rivet will be covered with tank sealant and the new sender mounting bracket.
