Brief Description: First Forward fuselage skin riveting
Started the riveting of the forward fuselage. Image 1 shows the riveting of the upper U channel to the engine mount fitting. By the way, unless you have an Alligator squeezer with a custom modified jaw (I don't yet) it is easiest to rivet this channel before installing the skin. Image 2 shows the interior after riveting the longerons and center section to the right skin. Image 3 shows the outside of the skin. There are some small dents around the rivets from setting them, so I will put a bucking bar on the outside and hit each rivet from the inside to smooth things out a bit. (A trick taught to me by an old time Mustang II builder)
