I didn't like the way the 159.625 bulkhead fit in the fuselage skin. It had about a 1/8 inch gap on each side which is too much to shim. I made a new form block to provide a better fit. Then I formed a new bulkhead and cut out a new .063 doubler. The new bulkhead was then drilled into the fuselage, and the tailwheel anchor weldment was drilled to the bulkhead (after checking the alignment of the tailwheel spring). Speaking of the tailwheel spring, I ordered one from Mustang Aero. Apparently they only have them with a bend in it. You can buy one that has not been heat treated, then un bend it and have it heat treated. Dick Eaves graciously offers to do this for us. Since I was having Mustang Aero send the spring to Dick, I also asked them to send him the main wing spar extrusions to be cut and bent. Dick also offers to do this. This is a tremendous help since I now do not have to build tooling and aquire a press for this operation.
