Brief Description:  Wing Rib Fittings

The aileron pushrod is divided into two sections. The inboard section runs from the control stick to a bushing located in the stub-wing rib. Image 1 shows installation of the ball fitting (bushing) in the rib. I got the bushing from Mustang Aero as it is the same fitting used in the Mustang 2 aircraft. The fitting came with holes drilled in it, and the holes are not aligned with the edge of the fitting, so care was needed to get the edge distances on the support fittings to work. Image 2 shows the support stiffeners riveted in place. Image 3 shows a minor modification that I made to the flapper door on the inboard rib. There is a small bleeder hole located in the corner of the rib next to the spar. I drilled the hole, and modified the door to make sure it would not get covered.
