Extensive discussion has gone on concerning optimum cooling of the Rotorway 162F powerplant. One area of improvement is to make the fan more efficient by lowering the fan further into the fiberglass ring and increasing the movement of air across the radiator. It has been suggested the optimum way of doing this is to place the top of the fan blades even with the vertical portion of the ring wall.
I shaped a 5/8 inch thick ring spacer on my metal lathe to achieve the correct vetical alignment. Drilled the corresponding holes and mounted the unit. The spacer was later painted back.
